This plan is administered by OTIP.
Who is eligible
Eligibility for the OECTA OT Benefits Plan is based on the number of days of occasional teacher work you completed for by the TCDSB during the previous school year.
The TCDSB provides a list of all eligible teachers to OTIP in July.
If you are eligible, you will receive an email invitation from OTIP in August/September.
How to participate
Once you complete your enrolment:
NOTE: You cannot make changes to your coverage after the enrolment period even with a life event (e.g. marriage, common-law, divorce, birth of a child, adoption).
Obtaining an eligible LTO at the start or during the school year
If you obtain an eligible LTO position/contract, you will receive an email to enrol for coverage under the OECTA Employee Life and Health Trust (ELHT) Benefits Plan.

Your LTO: | Enrolment |
If you obtained a 1.0 LTO after the first week of school in September | You must complete your enrolment in the OT plan within 31 days of receiving your enrolment email. |
If your LTO is less than 1.0 | You must complete your enrolment in the OT plan within 31 days of receiving your enrolment email. |
